How to add a date stamp to photos — the retro camera way
Want that amber 90s date stamp burned into the corner of your pictures? You don't need an app or an account. Here's the whole process, free, in your browser.
The quick version
- 1.Open QuartzLab '99 in your browser — it works on iPhone, Android and desktop with nothing to install.
- 2.Tap Add photos (or drag files onto the preview) and pick the pictures you want stamped.
- 3.The app reads the real date each photo was taken from its EXIF data, so the stamp matches the moment — not the day you exported it.
- 4.Pick a font style (QuartzLab '99 dot-matrix, 7-segment LED, or the Flare bloom), a date format, and an amber or neon colour.
- 5.Adjust size, position and opacity until the stamp looks right on the live preview.
- 6.Export — stamped JPEGs download individually or as one ZIP, at full original resolution.

No. QuartzLab '99 processes everything locally in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Can I date stamp photos that were taken years ago?
Yes. The stamp uses the EXIF date stored in each photo, so a picture from 2021 gets a 2021 stamp. You can also edit the date per photo.
Does it work with RAW files?
Yes — ARW, CR2, CR3, NEF, NRW, RAF, RW2, ORF, DNG, PEF and SRW are supported using the embedded JPEG preview.
Is it free?
